    HMS,

Here is what I have, I am unsure if it is the final version or not...
I have just begun construction - parts are enroute.
     (Diagram originally from Tony)

Actually i was the original author of that one...

how bout at ther voltage ampltude control circuit...  is its values floatin round somewer?

try this one... not sure but its a start

Sorry, I just have the original patent diagram without values.
I'm still working on that one, and would also be interested in values myself  ;)

some more info to play with

Thanks Ali, I guess the source was lost in a quote of a quote of a quote -  :P
Thanks for the new info - I'm sure lots of people will find the acceleration parts especially interesting...
I'm still waiting on parts before embarking into that area...

Still no luck with the 5VIC. I've been trying to get high voltages out of it and have only been able to get around 40v at the output with the cell disconnected. With the cell connected Ive only be able to get around 8v. Anybody else with a similar 5VIC been able to get the need HV?

Not sure yet but have you ever tuned Bob Boyces circuits? Fig 12 has selector switches for each frequency ...  just a thawt.

Tony, have you tried to find the resonance frequency for your coil set up?
Your scanning circuit may not be in the proper range for your coils.
    Don
  10. TonyWoodside

    #335 ·

Yea I've tried all frequency ranges, I even replaced the 100nF cap between pins 6 & 7 of the 4046 to a 10nF so I could get higher frequency ranges.
  11. Newguy

    #336 ·

its actually a resonate circuit when you tune it like this or a form of amplitude modulation.Ive added fig 3,4,6,12 with the 8XA cell driver part.... check out the increase in amplitude on the frequency generator :) im try in to fix 3 and 4 now if you wanna have a go at it..... i dont know if the values on 3 and 4 are rite, Im searching now where those connections go  ... the K10,K11,K3,K3.The sim shows it better if you unhook the scope leads and watch as you one at a time to each of the frequencies.I dont have my cell yet... old got trashed but.... i think the capacitor will act like a filter and without the frequencies adding like that in the sim on the FG then the resonace kills out rite.... just a thawt.

A while back I scoured the TB and control & driver circuits patent and came up with the following info:
Refer to Tech Brief Figures 3-2, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6 and Patent WO 92/07861

    Circuit K1=Safety Control Circuit
    Circuit K2=Variable Pulse Frequency Generator
    Circuit K3=Gated Pulse Frequency Generator
    Circuit K4=Cell Driver Circuit
    Circuit K5=Voltage Intensifier Circuit
    Circuit K6=?
    Circuit K7=Laser Accelerator/Distributor Optoschmitt (Photodiode)
    Circuit K8=Analog Voltage Generator
    Cirucit K9=Voltage Amplitude Control
    Circuit K10=Injector Circuit
    Circuit K11=Acceleration Control Circuit
    Cirucit K12=Laser Distributor
    Circuit K13=Gas Injector Cirucit
    Circuit K14=Pulse Indicator Circuit
    Circuit K15=Gated Frequency Oscillator
    Circuit K16=Dual Regulated Power Supply
    Circuit K17=?
    Circuit K18=?
Circuit K19=Exhaust & Air Gate Control Circuits
    Circuit K20=Summing Circuits
    Circuit K21=Phase Lock Loop Circuit

Card L1=Variable Pulse Frequency Generator (Circuit K2)
    Card L2=?
    Card L3=Gas Injector Card (Circuits K10, K13)
Card L4=Gated Pulse Frequency Generator (Circuit K3)
    Card L5=Acceleration Card (Circuit K11)
Card L6=Dual Regulated Power Supply (Circuit K16)
Card L7=Gated Frequency Oscillator (Circuit K15)
Card L8=Laser Distributor Optoshmitts (photodiodes) (Circuits K7, K12)
Card L9=Safety Control Circuit (Circuit K1)
Card L10=Laser Accelerator Optoschmitts (photodiodes) (Circuits K7, K12)
Card L11=Analog Voltage Generator (Circuit K8)
Card L12=Voltage Intensifier Control (Circuits K4, K5, K9, K14, K21, and the EEC per Fig 3-2 Tech Brief)

I need help as the list is not complete. I have not determined what circuits K6, K17, and K18 are. I have not determined which circuits are on Card L2. And I have not determined which Card(s) the following circuits are on: K6, K17, K18, K19, K20.

I know of one cirucit for sure which is missing and it's probably K6, K17, or K18. That is the Gas Feedback Control Circuit (Figure 11) from the Control & Driver Circuits patent WO 92/07861

can someone share fig 7 and fig 8 on multisim 11? I think with those 2 circuits  I can continue .
  22. TonyWoodside

    #347 ·

I can get ya figure 8, but figure 7 is gonna be a no go. The reason for this is because Multisim or any other simulation that I have seen doesn't have the 4046 PLL IC's.  Here's figure 8.

here is a 4046 subcircuit i developed just for Stan Meyer experimenters...Enjoy...

( open the file and look at the tab below, it will open an additional page with the subcircuit for the 4046 part i created)
using a data sheet and basic components we can create just about any part we wish, using existing parts and models.... these are known as Subcircuits...
simply search the help files and follow the directions
The actual graphic on the first page links to the parts on the second page via global connectors... or something similar, i forget its been a while since i made this subcircuit...

I think you have to keep the 4046 subcircuit files in the same folder as the rest of your circuit and copy it when you move the simulation as well...if you ever want to move to a faster desktop system

Thank You again Mr.Tony ...  and Mr.Ali hmm  thats cool i just ran out on the education edition and installed 11.01.... man i iwish i had known that yesterday .Ill start ordering parts soon.

Do yall know what part number is Q4 and Q5 on figure 4? It acts like on the sim the voltage wants to go to inifinity on that circuit.

Thats a darlington pair configuration of BJT's

so a single Darlington Pair part should do the trick
make sure the datasheet indicates the corrcet maximum switching speed and the base current is double what is required as well as the load current through the emitter / collector...etc.
