I think the frequency parameter is related to the spacing between the plates. The Pat5 document from the group's Files Section details a system running at 1.1 MHz, with a gap of one tenth mm between the plates, using a bifilar coil, with the second winding connected only to the cell. I also read another report which claimed this frequency was overly efficient. The 555 itself will produce issues at its high end, which is two or three hundred kHz.

Thank you, I'm sorta backwards when it comes to this. I have severe dislexia.
I must ask, how many batteries of this great size must I need to do this at a healthy rate?
I have a deep cycle marine battery which is rated at 725 cranking Amps. The label also says 115 A/hr @ 20 hr. So that means you can safely get just over five Amps out of it on an ongoing basis. For 600 Watts, you would need ten of these large, heavy batteries.

Your amperage values are correct. But keep in mind that lead/acid batteries are a defective technology. Internal damage will start to occur after discharging more than 15% of the rated capacity, which is just under seven A/hr with yours. After that, they'll have less capacity when recharged, and so on, until they have to be replaced. So make sure the power coming in from the solar panels is adequate to handle most of the load, to prevent excessive drain on the batteries.

A little twist here. My car battery is 600 cold cranking amps. That's a whopping 7200 watts of a jolt!
Let's say I want to take the 12 volts and move it's decimal point to the right 3 times. "12000" volts. And the 600 amps decimal point to the left 3 times, ".6".
Who here thinks the same power can create the same torq in horse power with the same wattage?

In my opinion, if you put a hundred batteries in parallel, the volts will be the same as a single cell, but the current will add up. Put the batteries in series, and the volts will add, but the current would only be what an individual cell can provide.
You can't get 600 Watts from 100 batteries unless you can get 6 Watts from a single battery. That's 4000 mA, continuous, with 1.5 Volt batteries. Until the voltage starts going down.

You'll have to use a lot more batteries than you're planning, to have an effective system. In series, each battery's Milliamps will be in the normal range, just as you suppose. However, the individual cells' voltage will start dropping almost immediately under load. The result will be that you get your 600 Watts only for a brief period. What you need to do is provide around 2 1/2 times the needed voltage, then run it through a regulator to output the 120. This way you'll stay at 120 for a while, even as the cells go down. Even then, you'll be lucky to run for a half hour, without parallel strings of batteries feeding the regulator.
Maybe you can stick a pin or something up from the bottom, into the opening. That might also double as one of the electrodes.
Glad to hear it, Steve. I've been testing a regular candle flame. We can share notes if you want, but I don't want to distract your initial ingenuity. (My goal, for now, is to charge a car battery). I have found that furnace cement is a castable refractory, up to around 2700 degrees.

I agree. And the length and diameter of the feedback tubes would have to be tuned to the flow rate velocity to maintain a precise output frequency. It might be better, at first, to build the diode version, without feedback, then use an inverter with the output DC?
If this works well enough, we can get our $300,000 by building and selling these units. No one likes the noise from a piston engine driven generator.
This looks like something which can be 3D printed, using the right kind of ink. Like transformer laminate varnish, a high temperature insulator made from alumina, magnesium oxide (Milk of Magnesia), iron oxide, and sodium silicate (automotive stop leak). Of course, the electrodes would have to be installed manually.

With the plasma diode, the plate is immersed in a magnetic field, which can be provided externally with a nearby magnet. This field causes positive particles to move towards the plate, preventing them from traveling to the point electrode(s) which are outside the field. The hold off voltage depends on the field strength. Electrons picked up by the non magnetised electrode travel through the external load circuit, to neutralize the positive charge on the plate.
With 168 hours in a week, that's 8,736 hours in a year. I doubt that a car's motor will run non stop for as many as 40,000 hours without breaking down. So the plasma diode looks like a better option for converting hho's energy into electricity.

how does this effect the oxygen atom, that wants 8 electrons?
there has been no gas analysis of Stans gas out put or any of the big name experimenters. no one has the answer for that alone.
I think your point is valid, Will. In this case, the size of the bubbles could indicate an electrical charge on the gas molecules, due to Coulomb repulsion. If it can be determined that there is such a charge, on at least one species, that might help us understand what's going on, with this particular system of gas production. Even if Stan's bubbles were smaller.
My calculations are an example, btw.

I think the numbers in your opening post are off by a factor of 10. 50kW times 5 is 250, rather than 2500. Sorry I didn't catch that sooner. So that would be $3.50 per hour. Still, nothing to sneeze at. Also my cost for the metal looks like about four times of yours. So this could still double my yearly income. Unless I use some other way to get the hydrogen. Now that I'm all fired up.

I'm 40 miles west of the Grand Canyon Skywalk, 45 miles north of Kingman, Arizona. (That puts me 50 miles from the grocery store).
The generators I'm looking at are just the heads - they don't have motors. So they'd have to be ganged, to be driven by a car engine. Like the YouTube video of the motorcycle with 13 chain saw motors. I'm going to contact the power company about the co-generation situation. Some utilitys will subsidise the installation, up to 40% in one case.
And I'm leaning towards a mechanical approach. Spinning a drum against tightly stretched brass wires is similar to the system which was shown many years ago as being capable of producing enough hydrogen to run a car. I don't remember if that article mentioned electrolyte, or if any will be needed.
It does appear that your reaction is consuming both the metal and the electrolyte. Is it possible to just use water, with the oxygen producing alumina, thereby liberating the H? Perhaps an under water arc would produce excess energy, from the H, since there's also the aluminium reaction. If straight DC from a battery or capacitor won't do it, a plasma arc might.

I just checked and the speed of light is about 3/4 of what it is in a vacuum. (2.25E8). So that's the fraction we need to base our resonance comparison on. And this also refutes the video's explanation of a sparking grape.

This system is different from what Meyer usually worked with. The resonance diagram shows that the frequency increases with higher voltage. That means that, in this case, resonance refers to the pulses being timed to match the time of flight of the ions between the two electrodes. This is a classic example of a Farnsworth type system. So it's not powered by a VIC transformer. The positive potential has to alternate back and forth between the two electrodes. It needs to be fed with a tank circuit comprising a variable capacitor in parallel with a center tapped inductor. Examples of the wiring diagram can be found in Farnsworth's multipactor patents.

Now I think that the coil winding will be three separate windings not run together, wound at the same time, and the output being in the centre.
Wining the coils to give a north south and remember, yes with a coil there is the flux from south / north or whatever, then the flux that radiates around each winding wire, and as this gets stronger the flux will radiat towards the centre of the coil.
This can cause compression and enough current a plasma field. However this is not intended for high current but it may eventually do that.
So if the coils a set so that we have s-n s- n s-n all the way round.
The outer coil near the south end would then feed into the coil in front of it to the coil near the north end and the centre coil is an output.
Well that the next set of thoughts

If you don't want flux compression, keep the internal plasma insulated from the coil, so it doesn't short out the convolutions as it accelerates.
