This guy Russ has gotten my attention. He is working on Stan Meyers technologies like us.

321 Stainless Steel

Type 321 contains titanium for greater resistance to corrosion and pitting. Excellent corrosion resistance and a seamless, smooth bore make it suitable fpr all types of applications. Tubing may be flared and is compatible with conventional compression or flare fittings. Also known as "aircraft tubing" because of its corrosion resistance and higher pressure rating.

What  do you guys know about 321 in the WFC?
Here is a bracket I made to mount this early style Ford Alternator.
This alternator will be un-regulated output directly to the fuel cell.
Factory alternator is on the drivers side and the fuel cell generator is on the passenger side.

This is a 22r engine
I've got plans to fabricate brackets on my engine to run a second alternator dedicated to the fuel cell, independent of the automobiles voltage regulated 12v system.
All you need to do is unbolt the air conditioning compressor then modify the brackets to fit your un-regulated alternator of choice. Then wire it to a pulse gen with high voltage DC transformer ....
the cell started humming and then shacking, "viberating" at first i thought the humming was coming from my power supplie but further investigation proved that it was not comming from the power supply but from the fuel cell.

I discovered this today also!  Its amazing what you might hear w/out an alternator roaring away

It sounds like a distorted buzzing sound and its hard to lock on to its peak effect...   

I also learned not to hook the o-scope to it unless you want to weld something.

I'd like to add that I was only able to achieve this ringing reaction with only one of my cells. It was the one That is 10"long with the .024" gap. "Little man" is responding much better to my setup then the 11.5"  .070" gap "Big-Boy" cell.   The larger gap cell wants more power put to it and I think my 13amp variac is just not powerful enough for it.

"Little Man" is now powerful enough to run a torch all on its own and still push pressure. I have had 3 explosions because if the back-pressure drops it pulls the flame into the bubbler. very scary and it got me all wet.  I wonder what will happen if I hook the variac to my neon sign transformer then to a bridge rectifier then to the cell...?

Been working lots of hours at the machine shop and I also got a new Bronco 2 that im switching from auto to manual 4x4 so been busy!!!

Anywho, tonight I hooked my cells up as neutrals on the outside then crossed 2 pos and 2 neg on the inners and I had some really good production! Something is wrong with my alternator and the output is very low so this test made my production appear to increase.

thin wall tubes: they dont stay true and get dents in them easy.
One of my cells has a .035" wall and it took special care when machning and handling.
The output of the cell, in my opinion, is mostly affected by the gap and not the wall thickness ...

  18.  NO skip tooth or anything different. Just small teeth. HAVE to run the blade speed SLOW.  We buy the coils from Do-all and weld them ourselves.

I bet the band saw works perfect for cuting tubes also. I've been using a chop saw and or a pipe cutter. The pipe cutter does great on the inner tube but on the outter tube its no good because of the way it pushes the blade into the metal to cut it...
I'm going to fit my small band saw with a new 18tooth blade.
I think if you pull too much vacuum, the water will boil inbetween the plates/tubes because of the electrolosys process. Its sweetspot would be just before the water boils. The water dosent seem to boil when its UNDER 15" of merc.
When you put a vacuum to the cell the bubbles expand.  The white froth you have at the top will almost instantly become two or three times thicker. The bubbles that come from between the tubes/plates pours out as large bubbles which flow at high rates of speed upwards.

I'm not sure of the reaction which is occuring while the vacuum is applied.  The large bubbles happen when 15" and up of mercury are applied.
These large bubbles do no not have the same explosive power.

Get a vacuum pump.  There are a few different types of pumps. I've used a 12v8ADC powered .1hp diaphram pump and was able to pull 22" of mercury. I've seen some people with mechanical air/vacuum pumps, I have limited experience but I think those might be over-powered for their application.   I did like ZeroFossilFuel's paint sprayer video where he shows you his vacuum pump. Its just a paint sprayer but it runs real trick and he explains it where the load on the motor fluctuates when it is under a load....  $.02

This is so bad ass. I dont know why, but I like it so much. Its way cool to be able to change the timing while the engine is running from inside the car.
