Books to learn electronics

I decided I would buy some good books and learn it on my own. Here is some that I'm going to get but if you know of any other good books or ways for learning this subject please share

I suggest Practical electronics for inventors... you find on the web for free... there you find many books... just need to search...

Thanks for the online resources guys

I decided to get just one of the books I mentioned, it being the DUMMIES book

I prefer to read from paper vs the computer screen when I can. The book was only $15

I sugest yes that you buy as many books you can, but probably is a good idea to check the content online before you buy them if you want. I grew a extensive collection... Because i like to read the informations from different sources. If i had to buy all the stuff i read, i would be living under the bridge today =)

Everytime I go to one of those websites I get more confused than ever. They have no direction. I need something that takes me from the start to the end. I have looked at countless websites with electrical information but I dont understand anything past DC12v automotive systems. Circuits and the components is what confuses me and I dont know where to start or which direction to take... They always want to throw everything in your face but its too much and its overwhelming.
Anyway I ordered up my book. I hope it helps me because I've got so many experiments in my head with all these parts but I have no idea how to "properly" hook them up.

I agree with Sebs, Practical electronics for inventors is a great book
