An identity on IonizationX as it was harvested, not an account on this site. Nobody here has claimed it, and nothing connects it to a person by name.

Looking forward to scopeshots.
So the current induced in the chokes do counter the current from the secondary?

Kali, how did you obtain your SS wire? Can you miss some?

This is the only pic in which the current from secondary to chokes are countered by induced emf in the 2 chokes, induced by the primary's magnetic field.
In other pics this only happens on the second negative resonant choke.

Cool, what microcontroller ar you using and how do you vary the values? Potmeters or via telnet?

Also, the VIC wil only output spikes, because the input is a blockpulse, induced emf = - dPhi/dt (edit minus actually), thus a spike will occur on the rising and falling edge, during high state, the output of the VIC is low.
Some VIC illustrations show a blockpulse on the input, which induces spikes.
Others show pulses with a rounded top, which induces the same signal on the output.
Please correct me if i'm wrong, it's been a while.

Are you all using resistive wire?

I'm planning to create an extreme version of the color-taped  VIC, using 38AWG (ex. coating size) for secondary and chokes and for the primary a thicker wire on a modified EI to UI core.
Turns:
Primary: 50-100
Secondary: 30k-40k
Chokes: 30k-40k

Ratio Pri:Sec for 50:30000 = 5:3000. input 12V -> 7,2KV
Never wound a coil before, but I definately won't do it by hand  ;D
Am researching the coating for the available wire atm (7KG 38awg bobbin)

any suggestions?

Cool, I'll let you know when I have finished it.
What kind of probe and scope do you use for this?

I have found ferrite EE-cores, how are they clamped together?

Damn, that sucks. Could you repair it?

NP.
How can I measure the HV output of the VIC with my (yet to receive) scope safely with a voltage divider or HV probe, without blowing up my scope?

Thanks.
Part 6 talks about SS 0.002 inch diameter 40+ AWG, but part 7 talks about 36 AWG for the same SS wire.

Techhbrief mentions for wiregauge 0.002, 0.004 and 0.03, what are these numbers (diameter?) and to which AWG do they correspond?

just a thought, if you build an inductor to match your resonant frequency of 10KHz, once production starts and the capacitance of your cell drops (due to more gas and less air in between plates) you will need to raise your frequency to match the lowered capacitance? would it not be a better idea to choose say 5Khz (or less) as your starting frequency?
Perhaps siwa is right and the 20ma or most if not all the power is used / fully converted to magnetic fields by the coils, so there is no energy available to flow to the WFC so perhaps a drop in capacitance doesn't matter.
What happens when the field collapses? Does the stored energy in the coils do flow to the WFC now?

4KV an no bubbles?
Perhaps with variable width plates or by playing with the dutycycle?

Don, do you have more info on the steam resonator?
I think this will proof the work by voltage concept best.
