Golf Cart Batteries
I second that, They're the best used batteries. They can be rejuvenated with help of J.B energizers. I believe that most of them are 6V. Unfortunately, where I live, you can't get them despite several golf courses around. They have to return them to the supplier in order to get the new ones.

IMO it would be worth trying. Alkaline electrolyte is much easier to make (with restricted supplies) than acid one. Not mentioning being safer to handle. I use to make my own at one time. I would much prefer few gallons of alum water spilled than sulfuric acid - if something goes wrong

At first I thought that cap discharge is too slow and cap doesn't drain before the next pulse but that's not the case. They seem to re bounce after being discharged. Good point Vtech
