Gasification: Reduce CO & H2O to H2 & CO (Syngas!!!)

Gassification has been known and used for centuries.
There was a resurgance of Wood Gassifiers during WW2 due to fuel shortages.
There are a number of steps to the process, but basically CO & H2O are reduced to H2 & CO by hot Carbon.

Now imagine this closed loop:
ICE-Reducer-cooler-ICE again. (filled with Syngas)
ICE:
The Syngas is oxydized to CO2 & H2O turning the crankshaft.
Reducer:
The reducer has to reduce CO & H2O to H2 & CO.
This is where energy is added to the system.
Usually hot carbon is used, but perhaps an electrical arc between carbon electrodes can be used.
Perhaps a Geet or modded geet type apparatus can be used.
There is already talk of and vids of closed loop geet systems...?
Cooler:
This is to cool the Syngas down for use in an ICE.
This could be a standard intercooler or the heat could be used to produce steam; which can be used to do work with the help of a steam engine. Perhaps to turn the alternator, aircon, water pump, steering pump, etc.
ICE again.
See where I'm going with this!
The fact that CO2 and H2O could be reduced with hot Carbon almost made me hit the roof!

If you look at the water plans of pantone, you see him using gras with water.
Thats the same principle as the wood gassifiers, i think.
Great stuff. I learned a lot of that technology.
