    Well he talks well, but the future is not "here now" yet. There is still a lot to do and the transparent sheet he held up was graphene on a substrate, not just graphene. The more layers of graphene the darker it gets, with just a few layers it has a yellow tinge to it and will conduct electricity very well, if it is reduced with hydrogen in one way or other, a lot use hydrozene for this. If it is not reduced it is more like an insulator.

    Hi , pure graphene is conductive , graphene oxide isn't conductive until you reduce it. He probably uses reduced GO as the IR absorber.. are there any other transparent IR absorbers? I am interested in this.

    Correct, but at the time he didn't want to give away trade secrets, but yes GO is an insulator until reduced with hydrogen, the oxygen and hydrogen join together and form water (a hydrogen cell). The conductivity also depends on the number of sheets in the layers (1 atom), more layers the less conductive, but normal practical number of layers is between 5 and 8 and is like a semi conductor, hence the big interest for the electronics industry.
