exactly what your going for?
Reminds me of a 'project' thats been sitting on my 'back-burner' for awhile, MAYBE similar?
I want to put a inverter on my vehicle, so I've got 120V AC, to supply current to an 'ioniser' which I intend to mount in the duct feeding the air filter in my vehicle.
First stage would be to SEE if this would cause any particulates, dust etc. to 'bond' to the ductwork, thereby eliminating the need for an air filter, while guaranteeing 'clean' IONISED air to the engine.
Next step would be to put water injection before the ioniser; that way the water SHOULD be converted to hydrogen and oxygen gas.
At least,...thats the idea.
Just eliminating the restriction from the air filter SHOULD give me slightly better perfomance, and if I can use the water injection as a 'boost', might increase performance, or reduce fuel consumption?

I THINK this is what you are trying to do; 'ionise' water mist to convert the water to hydrogen/oxygen gas,...right? Jim

So, How long they glow is quite variable, depending on the color. Wonder what color yields the most electric current from a solar cell, or does it matter?? Jim
The disinformation is thick

Put on your waders, its that thick.As far as I'm concerned, once the first containment building blew, this surpassed 3 mile island, and started approaching Chernoble, meanwhile the experts (former 'spurt?') were still placing it 3rd, BEHIND 3 mile island.Now that we have multiple core breaches, AND spent fuel rods exposed, it has surpassed Chernoble. But not according to the spurts.
And then they go on TV and tell people NOT to take iodine.Where do they come up with this sh**, pullit outta their *ss?!!! Iodine is NOT dangerous, its an essential ingredient of life.And its not dangerous, it won't make you hypothyroid, it will prevent hypothyroidism.Hope everyone is taking some.Jim
Spent fuel rods

My, admittedly sketchy, undestanding is that it is these spent fuel rod ponds, which are located on the roofs of the power plants, that they were briefly talking about using helicopters for, and thats the elevation problem.i.e. how to get water up to them, hence helicopters.
Again, I'm just going from what I hear, but apperently that idea was quashed pretty quickly.These rods apperently are much 'dirtier' than the rods in the plants themselves, and much less shielded.If they can't keep them covered in water, like any fuel rods, they will melt down, spewing radioactive crap everywhere, but also; they are located on the roofs of the reactors?? If thats right, real genius of an idea; they'll melt down right thru the reactor.
Probably put there cause it was easiest just to raise the spent rods up onto the roof.Yet another "Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time,...." Jim
Saw on TV tonite

A commentator said "American engineers are confident nothing like this could happen here.,.....But then just 2 weeks ago, Japanese engineers would have said the same thing." And that was on a 'mainstream' network, I believe.It was either NBC national (nitely) news, Or PBS Newshour, not sure which.
Its not just greed, although that surely plays a role in something like this. Its also HUBRIS.How about this genius idea of putting 5 or 6 reactors at the same site, right next to each other.Up until now, nobody thought something catastrophic could effect multiple plants, so it 'seemed like a good idea at the time'.Most nuclear plants have multiple reactors.The one outside the city where I live has 5.Jim

Just plain grim. I beleive the 50 that are left, know they are probably done for. Kind of a "put your head between your legs, and when you see the flash, kiss your ass goodbye!" The earthquake and the tsunami, thats mother nature, and she can be fierce, when pissed.But mother Nature didn't build those reactors, thats all humans, and Hubris. So sad,....Jim

Not making light, just a little "Black humor". Look at it this way, I like to think of myself as open minded, I read everything on this forum with interest, and I'm not sure what I believe about Browns gas.These are engineers indoctrinated in thinking conventional wisdom, etc.It was real 'thinking outside the box' for them, to come up with using fire trucks and ocean water.Browns gas is 'just a bridge too far', I'm afraid! As far as availability, I'm lucky to live in a large city. I can go on craigslist, autos/trucks for sale. Type "classic car" or "classic truck" and find lots. For instance 2 mid 60's Plymouth valients are available right now. Great economy engine, the slant 6. I like the older cars where they are easy to work on, lots of space. The newer ones seem to be designed to make it nearly impossible.And, I don't have some gov't inspector sticking there nose under my hood, and telling me "You can't do that! $2500.00 fine!" Course I'm NOT real swift when it comes to electronics.Anyway, to each his own. Jim
Best source for fuel economy info

Google MPGRESEARCH. They cover fuel heaters, intake heating and cooling, Somenders grooves, H2o injection, and much more! You can spend several hours reading all of the threads, in all the different topics(much like this site).Unfortunately, the sites been kind of dead lately, and they are slow to respond to attempts to join. But, you don't need top be a member to read the threads.
In my opinion, and from my experiance; If mods for fuel economy is where you want to go, start off with a pre-70's car.You can find them, cheap, if you shop around.Pick one where the model and engine were made for at least 10 years. In that case spare parts will still be available. Example; Ford 223 inline 6, made from '54-64.I can get any part for the engine I need, and have a complete engine worth of NOS parts. Set of pistons=$100.00, set of pushrods, same.
I believe that once you get into fuel injected, ecu controlled with a catalyctic converter, the engine tends to fight you, as almost any mod you do to improve economy is going to confuse the O2 sensor, and the ECU will richen the mixture, to make sure there is enough unburned gas in the exhaust to make the catayctic converter work.To me thats an insane, ass backwards way to do things.
Specifically regarding fuel heating, I DO have a 'modern' car; '89 Camaro,2.8L.I noticed early on the fuel lines run real close to the exhaust manifold, so, on this car at least, the manufactuer is already heating the fuel, and I'm sure they did it on purpose.And, the stock intake IS a 'cold air intake'. Thing is, they were trying to meet emissions standards, get some economy, give some performance, and were locked into a certain way of doing things based on; decisions previously made and courses of action committed to, institutional inertia, etc.Anyway, my 2 cents worth. Just a suggestion

Sorry, what your asking for is like the patient that goes to the Dr. and wants a pill to make them feel better. Don't want to hear "quit smoking, diet/excercise, etc".Not being critical, its just generally not that easy. However, there is an adjustment you can make, it will DEFINETLY give you mileage improvements, (probably more than you will get unless you want to spend thousands of $ and hrs. experimenting) and the good news is it won't cost you ANYTHING! All you have to do is adjust that nut, the one just behind the steering wheel! Read up on pulse and glide, safe drafting techniques, etc. Practice them until they become automatic.Then your mileage, which will have improved considerably, (going from 40mpg to 60mpg is not uncommon!)will also be consistent. This will give you a more acurate way to measure your mileage, when trying to detirmine if any of these mechanical adjustments are actually improving your mileage.And you'll need that, because you'll be measuring SMALL gains.i.e. 1-3 mpg for each change you do, like increasing the tire pressure, acetone, etc.Read, study, learn, apply.Happy and safe motoring! "If its anything like appliances switching to natural gas from propane is simply changing a orifice" Its more complicated, and expensive than that.Particularly since conversions are typically to end up with the car being able to run on either gasoline or propane,with a simple switching system.Actually I've got a crazy idea. Ya know the system for running your car on compressed natural gas? Costs ya a couple of grand, for the compressor to install in your garage, and the high pressure "fuel tank" to install in your vehicle. And, if everyone converted, that would just raise the price of natural gas. But suppose you fed the compressor with a hose, (with suitable 1-way valves, etc. that drew methane gas from the SEWER system?After all, Natural gas IS methane! I've wanted to try this on a small scale with a generator, a hose, and a bong-type bubbler. Start it on gasoline, hook up the hose, shut off the gasoline, and see if it will keep running.Probably violating all sorts of safetry regs, unless there's a loophole in that no ones ever thought of/tried it, so they haven't made any rules against it! If you resisted the urge to 'tell the world' might just get away with it! After all, your not stealing. Sewage treatment plants think of the sewer gas as a nuisance. By the way, the way they eliminate it, safely, in many plants, is by feeding it to large, diesel engines.They use them to operate various pumps, etc. but the main reason they do it is its the SAFEST way to get rid of the gas.Why don't they feed it into the natural gas distribution system? I should have included growing pot, running a chopshop, or any other illegal activity.Actually, I would also avoid anything that makes it look like your trying to hide what your doing, so I would use a creditcard or check. In fact, I'd put what your doing right out on the front lawn, for everyone to see, figuratively if not literally!Make it easy for them to tell you aren't making Meth, so they can move on to those that are.Jim

Googled it, some people are having problems because buying quantities of Lye can set off alarms.
Some may call me naive, but,...If you are not buying/using/selling/making meth, and you don't associte with those that do, You will probably be o.k.Oh, and don't call em Nazi's, don't even think it!(Not saying they can read minds, but they can definetly sense hostility, and since there life may depend on it, they are real good at that! This is 1 of several links I have.Going from memory, 1 says that the gallium needed to make the reaction can be supplied with a drop of 'liquid metal' like you can buy by the tube in an auto parts store.I believe i also have a link, or maybe its the same one, where a guy actually runs a big lincoln on nothing but aluminum generated hydrogen. 'Course, he had a 55 gal. drum he was using as a generator, but it was just to demonstrate that it CAN be done.I think the attraction of the electrolysys is using water, theroretically free and easy to aquire.After all, any 'new' system doesn't, at least initially, have a supply network, like gas stations.Still, seems like you could store a lot of aluminum in the trunk!
