Laser question

What kind of laser would be needed?

Do you have an (online) example?
Hi all,

While surfing i stumbled across some simple video's about the conductivity properties of carbon fiber.

Some use it as electrolizer plates:

Carbon Fiber HHO Electrodes Producing HHO In Spring Water - No Electrolyte! 12VDC @ 310mA - YouTube
Carbon Fiber HHO Electrodes - Successful Rectifier Diode Experiment! - YouTube

This guy shows some simple but interesting tests of the bare fibers.
Conductivity, glowing, and as electrodes.

DIY HHO Carbon Fiber electrically conductive - YouTube

Interesting to see if and how it disintegrates, or wears out.

I wonder what/if a kind of electric / magnetic field will arise from a couple of winding's with carbon fiber strings...?

Just to inform and share.

Water towers are the most effective means of storage yet. Almost a 98% return on your power. There is plenty of info on it if you look around.

Matt
You have to raise a lake to get some useful power!
Sometimes I get almost mad...

This tech looked very promising, was independently tested and ready for market ( Expensive ! 95.000 )

But of course it vanished, including the website.

I do not think this was a scam, just to easy for people to get independent.

Imagine this on large scale production, costs way down. And if you do not have Solar, you could use wind or water energy.

Unless you evaporate some graphite with your HHO torch and condens it to an object to create a carbon nano layer a 1000 times more conductive as copper, and if you let it condense it on glass substrate you can even see true it.

Voila, cheap DIY nano tech.

But I agree, simple is better.
Found this thing on youtube.

It is presented as a solution for development countries, but after looking at it.. Anyone with Sun and (dirty) water would be almost independent !!

The procedure:

- Sun powers a water purifier, a hydrogen/ oxygen splitter
- Excessive energy gets stored as hydrogen

They claim enough energy to simultaneously:

- Pump up the water
- Purify the water
- Store Hydrogen
- Store Oxygen

and while doing all the above also able to deliver even more excessive energy to power electrical stuff

On top of that, you can hook up a cooking stove on the spot.

Wow!

Well .. water, hydrogen, stored energy, cooking... now we need some cold:

Coleman Stirling Power Coolerfreezer

Funny thing is.. this is a very energy low efficient Stirling Cooler.

But they seems to be off the market, even not on ebay anymore. Everywhere out of stock, or discontinued.
They use max 42W 12V to produce -18 celsius in minutes!

Ideal for solar use, One good panel, a battery and you have a all year fridge. (I was even thinking you can build this engine in you existing fridge)

Some guy measured his:

As far as numbers go here is what I came up with. The Coleman has 5 settings versus the Engel which I believe is variable. The power consumption of the Coleman is .66 Amps for the lowest setting to 4 Amps on the freezer. The temps for the 5 settings are;
1. Cool one- 50F degrees 8 watts/.66 Amps
2. Cool two- 43F degrees 16 watts/1.33 Amps
3. Cool three- 37F degrees 27 watts/2.25 Amps
4. Freeze one- 19F degrees 42 watts/3.5 Amps
5 Freeze two- -.4F degrees 55 watts/4.1 Amps

Only place they still sell them is in the medical portable coolers for much higher prices, as they have been as low as 299 dollar once, they are now sold as high priced medical coolers.

What I'm saying.. Both those products.. It is out there, but somehow the mass will not see it or get the access to it.
There is another way to read the list:

You can read in it what they already have, and where they are at, what they do not interest (any-more) and what they are keen to find out.
It seems almost to simple... then again.. simple is good!

So to replicate this we "only" need:

- Cobalt (surface) electrodes ?
- water with dissolved fosfor ?
- 1.2v <> 1.6v ?

Thats it?

About the solar part.. It could be a smokescreen as mentioned.. But hey .. this is MIT.. It cannot be that those questions aren't asked before.. I guess this was the first question of one of the students.. or even his wife ;-)

I was thinking .. Just a long shot.. But could it be that a solar panel delivers a different "kind" of power compared to conventional means of power supply? That somehow something is different with energy created by solar panels?

Anyway, if true, wonderful news!

It may has to come to that indeed...

But for now i have an electric (AA battery) BBQ sparker... It sparks nice. But somehow.. When i install it. It will not work always.

Somewhow it finds an easier way... I changed wires.. Tried screws, softwire, hardwire.. It sparks well at the end of the wires, but inside the cube it is unreliable..

Water vapor ??

D*mn ... (I'm an electrical noob either ;-)

I smoke one first, maybe it will come!

Cool man, Hey listen my friend.. do you have a hho torch?
Nope, this is my first HHO project. My cell is not suited for torch production, i just need the minimum amount of gas for a bang.

Tnx Vickers! I was already thinking no one cared.

Well just having some fun ;-)

I keep having trouble getting a reliable spark however ;-(

And with explosions.. It's nice to know when it's going to explode...
So far:

It seems that connecting the positive to the stainless and the negative to the sinc gives the best effect.

Not only in production speed, as well as in most agressive bang. Higer speed.
(The "implosion" afterwards not yet measured)

I was hoping it would be the other way around, because the metal connected to the negative is the corroding metal as i understand electrolyses well.

My detonator is hanging in the middle. My basic plan is ignite it as soon as it is possible.

My cell i in the same pipe, this way i have the most simple and direct acces to the gas. I also can easaly change the size of the combustion chamber by adjusting the water level.

So far the explosion seems to start UNDER the igniter. This surprises me, as i was thinking the gas would "gather" at the top..

Still a lot to learn.

(Noitice how low the explosion is this time, it still varies )
