so I just finished litzing the wire for my genny coil, it is almost 7 pounds of wire, 16 gauge x10 at 100 feet. don't put the drill on the ground without relieving the rotational tension.... it will spin the drill all over the floor and turn your nice litzed wire into a giant pretzel. luckily I have enough for another one this is a serious piece of work.!!

that is a real good question, there are formulas for standard generator coil winding and its output based on magnetic gauss, but I have no idea about this. perhaps Peter can chime in on this as it is his design.

the way the lindeman generator coil is wound it places all the wires in series into all areas of flux. I would think this coil would be much better than a standard coil at harvesting the induced field in the core.

this is just my opinion, I have not tried this style coil before. I am however making a kit for a customer right now. if anyone is interested in this style coil please send us an email. looks like it will be around 160 with you having to modify the spool (cut and glue) and wind it. we supply the litzed wire spool and enough rods for the core.

backpopping the primary should be done when the battery is "off" so figure out where that is in the timing cycle. I leave it to you to give it a unique name...... I have done experiments where you can add a longer length of rods to the coil and hang a genny coil on it, which charges a cap and pulses to the battery with a magnetic reed switch driving a transistor.

if your entire circuit was not breadboarded it would run better especially the collector outputs, even bending the transistor collectors and soldering them to the diode directly then to the buss wire instead of thru the breadboard will help . what you are saying will work, just get big wire on there.

please please please put some decent cables going to the bank, like 10 or 8 gauge.... you are wasting most of the spike there is no wire for it to travel on. you will not get the voltage rise you want. imagine a 5000 gallon bucket of water flowing thru a 1/8 inch vynil aquarium hose and how much potential is wasted.

Why_me, what do you know about lead acid batteries? I suggest before you go spending a ton of cash you don't have, begin researching them, fully understanding them, and then you will answer most if not all of your questions. understand why alum works as an electrolyte first. you are going at this the wrong way. all of your questions will be answered if you study lead acid batteries, I am not going to spoon feed you........ do some homework first my friend.
