smack typ booster plate question

hello
I am I am prety new to this, I asked a couple ?? some time ago but quit work due to the freezing temps here.
I am makeing a hydroxy generator for my car like the smacks booster. I decided to get 316 stainless instead of switch plates. I am going to use 4 inch sced 40 pipe. I certainly can not make the plates any withr due to the diameter of the pipe BUt I can make them longer. I plan on still running at about 20 amps, just more surface area and larger water voulme for better cooling, it sounds like a good idea to my but I an very new to this.
my question is this would longer plates be better ?
