the motor is labeled my1016 250w at 24v dc and says its a brush motor

going to get a 360w boost converter and see if it does the trick

Thank you, I'm guessing its a brushed motor, would rather not disassemble it to find out, the original batteries are like back up UPS batteries, the marine deep cycle I want to use is about 6 times the size.

Would either of these have a chance of working?

Please move this thread if it's in the wrong place. I have a kids ride-on electric motorcycle, the sealed lead acid batteries are finished and I haven't been able to rejuvenate them. Instead of paying for expensive exact replacements I want to use a marine deep cycle 12v battery to power the toy. How do I step up the voltage to run a 24v dc motor off of a 12v battery.

I could use group u1 lawnmower batteries if I had to but the marine deep cycle is sitting here ready to go. Looked briefly at a voltage doubler as well as a boost converter circuit. Any suggestions?
