Ni-Mh dissetion info.
Dear Mike.
Many thanks for the update.
I have managed to find a little time today. I now have four SS grids sealed with Epoxy resin curing.
Any builders might be interested to know that " dead " Ni-Mh batteries won't yield the suitable electrode as the Nickel Hydroxide paste dries to a powder and falls off the metal matrix. I would suggest buying new ones, FULLY discharging them before dissection.
Dissection is simple enough, use a Junior hacksaw to cut a slot from top to bottom and across the base then carefully, wearing gloves, peel the canister open. Remember it's only the positive electrode that's required so your saw cut doesn't damage it.
More to come as time permits.
Cheers Graham.
