I am interested in discussing these systems. Whilst most people are presently discussing 'brute force' systems, and these for the moment certainly have their place; I believe that the long term future is in the more subtle type of system as proposed by Meyer / Ravi / Lawton.

tuning pipes

I am trying to tune the pipes, but the results seem to be contrary to everything that I have read. On all the info I have, it is necessary to either shorten, or cut a slot in the outer pipe to raise the tone (frequency) to that of the inner. I am using a 3/4 inch diameter inner pipe, wall thickness 1.5mm; with an outer pipe of 1 inch diameter, wall thickness 1.5mm.

I am finding that the outer pipe, when at the same length as the inner, rings at a higher note (frequency) than the inner. Thus to get the two pipes to the same note, I am going to have to cut down on the inner pipe.

Has anyone else found the same? It puzzles me.
