Abstract

Published in Microwave Review / TELSIKS 2001. Models wire-wound coils as anisotropic cylindrical waveguides. Derives resonance, self-capacitance, and voltage magnification by standing electromagnetic waves (coherent spatial modes). CRITICAL for VIC research: explains how helically-wound coils (like the VIC choke) can achieve voltage magnification far beyond what lumped-element theory predicts, through distributed resonance and coherent spatial mode excitation.
