Abstract

SAE Technical Paper 929469. Describes discharging high-voltage capacitors through water producing anomalous explosions with energy release that cannot be explained thermodynamically. A 2µF capacitor charged to 1-10 kV was discharged through a water column. The resulting explosions released significantly more energy than the electrical input energy stored in the capacitor.
