VIC design session v108: best candidate (Q=98.3, 97.7kHz)
Sweep: Fresh choke floor sweep against the CURRENT v42 WFC cell (10/12mm rod-in-tube, 50mm, 1 cell, 0.1ppm @ 2C, surface 0.25x, C_eff=1.327nF) - the VIC-side record (v107, Q=8.3 @ 97.5kHz) is stale, it was evaluated against the pre-v42 cell 2.5 minutes before v42 landed. Forcing choke inductance explicitly across 0.3-2mH (the 'floor' v41/v57/v80 kept getting yanked off of back to the 100uH anchor) to see whether anything beats the 1mH/420T/AWG22 pairing that is already living in production at Q=69.7 / 97.7kHz, or confirms it as the real local optimum now that it is checked fresh.
Cell: 10mm rod in 12.0mm tube × 50mm, 1 cell(s) parallel → C_eff = 1.33nF, bulk water R = 140290Ω. Water/electrodes (Randles): 0.1ppm Na+ @ 2°C, surface ×0.25 → λ_D 227nm, C_dl 0.7µF, cell series R 10.7Ω, displacement current 99.1%, breakdown margin ×57. Fig-8 voltammetry (4,798,661): τ_EDL 101883.5µs (9955.1 carrier cycles to charge), Faradaic leakage at peak 25.3mA (leak score 0.80 — keep amp leakage inhibited while voltage climbs the ladder). Vapor-film discharge (CGDE onset, 1179V across 0.1mm film): regime townsend-avalanche, film Paschen 719V, 470 Td. Per-molecule (series micro-capacitor chain): 3.70M molecules across 1.00mm → 318.44 µV/molecule (polarization (µV band)). Chokes: 2 × 0.001H (200 turns, AWG 18, 24m wire, AC R 0.9Ω each). At resonance f_r = 97.71kHz: Xl = 1228Ω, Xc = 1228Ω, tank Q = 98.3, coil Q = 703.4. Cell voltage 1179V from 12V drive (×98.3). Tank current 0.96A circulating (CW upper bound — rate wire/switch for this); average input 19mA at 2% duty. No hard violations (band, wire length, dielectric). Average current is scored, not gated. Score 0.821.
