Terminal resistor (12) provides ohmic balance matching the bypass coil's construction
Terminal resistor (12), affixed on the ground side of the excitor array between bypass coil (9) and ground terminal (13), is composed of resistive wire wound in the same coil configuration as bypass coil (9) and includes an adjustable wiper-arm lead, preventing electron deflection, waveform distortion, and transformer humming, while allowing gas production to be tuned.
