Optical thermal lens assembly reflects gas ions through a heat zone before exit
In the optical thermal lens assembly (Figure 5C), combustible gas ions pass through a quenching circuit (30, a restricted orifice preventing flashback), are reflected by lenses 31 and 32 back and forth through thermal heat zone 33, then exit through final port 34; deflection lens 31 superheats beyond 3,000°F.
