O2 molecule forms from two oxygen atoms combining, leaving room for a third oxygen atom

Transitional Oxygen gas molecule (O2) combines two oxygen atoms (906a/906b) together, with the donor oxygen atom (906b) able to accept another oxygen atom (905c) since its L-orbit (outer shell) still has two available 'electron-gaps' for covalent linkup, as illustrated in Figure 9-3 (920).
