Hydrogen flame temperature can exceed 5,000°F and be reduced by recycling non-combustible exhaust gases

The hydrogen gases support a flame temperature up to and beyond 5,000°F; to reduce burn-rate/flame temperature further, non-combustible gases expelled from the sustained flame are captured, flow-regulated by a gas valve (11), and recycled back into the flame and/or fuel cell prior to ignition, allowing the flame temperature to be lowered below that of burning paper.
