Combustion mixture ratio of hydrogen, ambient air, and non-combustible gas controls flame velocity/temperature
The gas burner mixes hydrogen gas, ambient air, and non-combustible (recirculated exhaust) gas in a controlled ratio via three separate valves (hydrogen line valve 38, ambient air plate adjustment 15, and return line valve 42) to retard the flame's velocity and temperature below that of pure hydrogen but above that of conventional fuels.
