Closer plate exciter spacing increases gas yield but raises leakage risk; optimum is closest spacing with minimum leakage

The spacing between plate exciters in water (varied via rack 80 and gear 81, manually or by programmer 69 driving motor 33) is directly related to gas separation rate: closer spacing increases attractive-field strength and gas yield but also increases probability of electron leakage, so the optimum is the closest spacing achievable while minimizing current leakage.
