Catalytic Dome forms a secondary combustion zone above the quenching nozzle
A hemispherical-shaped Catalytic Dome (10), composed of heat-retaining ceramic material, is placed on top of and in spaced relationship to the quenching nozzle (20); it captures escaped combustible gases, ignites them, and redirects them back into the sustained hydrogen flame, superheating gases for utilization and preventing Nitrous Oxide (N2O) formation.
