Adjacent electromagnets in each series alternate polarity and are magnetically coupled by rings
Each successive electromagnet in the first series (13a-13n) and second series (15a-15n) is of opposite polarity to its neighbor, and each complimentary pair (inner vs outer) is also of opposite polarity. The outer ring (12) and inner ring (14) coupling the electromagnets are made of magnetic material, which magnetically couples and averages the fields so each gap field is identical, producing induced output pulses of identical magnitude.
